Due to a staff meeting this morning, residents were unable to take baths. For residents with cold hands, we performed hand massages while they soaked their hands in warm water. We were delighted to hear various positive responses such as “It feels so good!”, “I’m warming up!”, and “Thank you!”. Some residents even fell asleep from the comfort. It seemed that they felt a different sensation compared to the usual warm towels after meals.
We heard that a large amount of Matsutake mushrooms from Suzu have been harvested. Residents held the large Matsutake mushrooms, almost as big as their faces, and exclaimed, “Wow, that’s amazing!” with joy. Tomorrow’s lunch will be Matsutake rice using these fresh Suzu Matsutake mushrooms.
Tomorrow marks the last day of our activities at this elderly care facility. We hope that residents will feel that it was a positive experience having HuMA here. We will do our best to maintain a smile until the very end.
