A Heartwarming Reunion (10.22)

HuMA nurse, who is currently engaged in support activities at a nursing home for the elderly, worked at the Horyu Elementary and Junior High School shelter in Suzu City during the Noto earthquake in January.

“I remember seeing you at Horyu Elementary during the earthquake,” a staff member recalled. While most homes in the area were completely leveled, the community is still working tirelessly to rebuild. The focus now is on clearing pathways for children to safely walk to school.

The HuMA nurse was also fortunate to reconnect with Ms. B, who she had assisted during the disaster. We shared fond memories of working together to support the residents amid a power outage. “I’ll never forget how HuMA arranged for us to evacuate to Kanazawa. It meant the world to me and my parents,” she expressed. Her gratitude filled the nurse with joy and renewed her commitment to providing compassionate care, especially during bathing assistance.
