Helicopter transport and evacuation center surveys were conducted.

We were informed that a voluntary evacuation center had been established in the village of Zenno, so we headed there to check and assess the voluntary evacuation center. However, the roads along the way were severely damaged, and we were also informed that they were cut off by landslides. Therefore, we abandoned our visit and went to other voluntary evacuation centers and designated evacuation centers.

Survey of evacuation centers
Water, electricity, and gas were out. People were using their own stockpiles and spring water for water and flashlights for electricity. Since gas service was not available, some evacuation centers were using propane gas and kamado (fire pits) for cooking and boiling water. Oil heaters were used to provide moderate warmth, but since most of the evacuees were elderly, there were concerns about the lack of manpower to carry kerosene when it ran out. For Toilets, water from the river had to be used to flush. Many people were concerned about running out of food, water, kerosene, batteries, and other supplies, as well as prescription medicines. The stress on the evacuees was also a concern.

Toilet problems were also serious at other evacuation centers. Although toilets were not available, people were using them and it caused problems with clogged toilet bowls.

There were many elderly evacuees, and many of whom fell over at night. Some shelters did not have spare rooms to deal with infectious diseases.

There are so many evacuees that many people have not been able to prescribe medications, but they also continue to be unable to call out for them. Some evacuees from the community said that they did not know what to be prescribed because they did not have their medication or medication book with them. Many wanted to see a doctor to check for health problems.
